Seville child dies in tragic bouncy castle accident

A child from Sevilla has died from injuries he obtained whilst playing in a bouncy castle.

On February 27 the youngster tragically passed away at the Hospital Virgen de Macarena. The young boy had been in a coma with severe brain injuries since the accident happened five days earlier on February 12 at the Carnaval de San José celebrations in La Rinconada. Another young child fell on top of the boy whilst playing on the inflatable toy causing him to faint and suffer a heart attack.

The alarm was raised as soon as the owner of the castle noticed the child had fainted. The Protección Civil were quick on the scene to give first aid and take him to the nearest medical centre. The local town hall in La Rinconada has declared three days of mourning.
