MEETING: The similarities between Mijas and Adeje were highlighted.
BRITISH CONSUL in Malaga Charmaine Arbouin, has chosen Mijas’ Foreign Residents’ Department as a prime example and model for a future tourists’ information office the British Consulate intends to open in Adeje, Tenerife.
The Mijas department was one of the first to be created to tend to the needs of expatriates on the Costa del Sol, and has 31 years of experience to back it up, making it the perfect example to follow.
During a meeting in Mijas, attended by the Consul, local Mayor Juan Carlos Maldonado, Foreign Residents’ Department representative Anette Skou and Adeje representative Clio O’Flynn, the similarities between the two towns were highlighted, mainly that both have approximately 50,000 inhabitants, a large part of whom are expatriates.
