Searching for snares.
JUNTA DE ANDALUCIA Environment department officers found numerous illegal hunting instruments in a private reserve in Sierra Alhamilla. Among these objects there were cages, traps of different sizes and snares, all of which are forbidden and absolutely illegal.
These traps were found in a building on a private reserve by officers who were investigating the death of a fox trapped in a snare, following a complaint by a representative of the Asociación Serbal.
Environment department representative Antonio Martinez said that the officers did a fantastic job as they spent hours searching the area until they found the building.
The department has now started proceedings against the owner of the building and any finding against the owner may result in high fines or even in the temporary closure of the reserve.
