Naked woman roaming Spanish town accused of stabbing baby

AN AMERICAN woman is receiving psychiatric treatment in Sevilla, after stabbing her own child and then taking to the streets naked, reports from February 10 confirm.

Locals in Utrera, which is 30 kilometres south east of Sevilla contacted the Guardia Civil after noticing the naked women running along the street shouting “kill, kill, kill”.

The woman, 35, is reported to be a US military wife whose husband is stationed at the Moron de la Frontera US Air Base. 

A Guardia Civil spokesperson confirmed that officers from the two patrols attending the scene initially “assumed the woman had been the victim of a crime”.  

However, officers faced a disturbing scene on driving the emotionally-fraught woman home to get some clothes. Within the house they found her critically injured ten-month-old daughter with several stab wounds on her body, and the knife used lying next to her. 

The baby was rushed to Sevilla’s Virgen del Rocio hospital while her mother was checked into the psychiatric ward at the same hospital. Her daughter’s condition has since been described as “serious but stable”. 

Further details about the woman, including her husband’s identity, have not been revealed at this time.
