The Stratford Centre, London.

A BOMB scare at 9:45 this morning has closed London’s busy Stratford shopping centre, reports from February 8 claim.

Few details of the incident have been released yet, but London’s Metropolitan Police has confirmed they are trying to get to the bottom of a “suspicious incident” at the shopping mall, which is near Olympic Park in the east of the capital.

All shoppers at the centre were quickly evacuated, while surrounding streets including the high street and Broadway were closed off, and traffic in the area diverted.

Reports suggest that the nearby Westfield Stratford City shopping centre remained open as well as Stratford underground station.
