Busy book signing by thriller writer

Mike Cowburn and Marion Leigh at Bookworld.

AN IMPRESSIVE number of people turned up to talk to thriller writer Marion Leigh and purchase copies of both her first book The Politician’s Daughter and new release Dead Man’s Legacy featuring Canadian detective Petra Minx on February 4 at Bookworld Puerto Banus.

Owner of this successful English book store Mike Cowburn said that he was delighted that Marion, who with her husband has had a holiday apartment near to Guadalmina since the 1990s, had agreed to promote her books at his shop. He was also smiling at the number of people who attended who purchased the books as well as taking the opportunity to browse his extensive stock which includes Valentine’s cards.

For Marion, this is not work but a labour of love, and she speaks of her main character Petra as if she is actually a personal, living friend. She and her husband are now regular travellers to areas in which the books are set which allows Marion, a linguist to not only converse in some of her numerous languages but to undertake research for her books.

Apart from the paper versions of the books which are available from Bookworld, they can also be downloaded from Amazon and as a special promotion from February 8 to noon February 12, her first book The Politician’s Daughter can be downloaded for just 99p from www.amazon.co.uk.

Marion is already in the middle of writing her third Petra Minx book which will be set in Dubai, Geneva and South Africa which she hopes to finish by the end of the year.

In the meantime, Euro Weekly News is delighted to be able to offer one signed first edition copy of Dead Man’s Legacy to readers who need to simply send an email or letter with the answer to the following question; How many Petra Minx books have been published to date?
