Child star wows Almeria home crowd

FORMER contestant of the Spanish talent show La Voz Kids, Mar Hernandez, was a little nervous as she stepped out in front of a home crowd at the Apolo Theatre in Almeria last weekend for her first ever solo concert, but she needn’t have been.

The 12-year-old future star stunned the crowd and brought them to their feet in ovation with her renditions of some great tracks from Alicia Keys, Gloria Gaynor, Guns ‘N’ Roses and many others from her favourite Blues, Soul and rock bands. 

Tickets were sold out for the first solo concert of Mar Hernandez weeks ago, shortly after it was announced that Almeria’s own TV starlet was going to perform. The 12-year-old singer from Almeria said: “I was a little nervous at the start, but it was good.”

Mar wishes to become a professional singer when she grows up, her favourite types of music are soul, blues, funk and Rock, and thanks to her amazing voice, hard work and talent, she has many chances to achieve it.
