Dolores Fuentes Fornieles celebrating 100 years of life

Surrounded by almost 100 relatives Dolores Fuentes Fornieles celebrated her 100th birthday at Bola Marina in La Herradura.

Dolores, who is in a perfect state of health, said that “my legs are the only thing that fail me.” She has been a resident of La Herradura for the last 20 years, where she lives with her daughter Mari Trini.

“I have four children but I’ve never wanted to move around from one house to another. I’ve always wanted to stay in one place, like I am now with Trini in La Herradura,” she said.

Dolores Fuentes Fornieles was born in the Almeria locality of El Ejido and after that she lived in Guardias Viejas, where she met her husband Jose Luque. Three of her four children were born in Guardias Viejas: Jose, Dolores and Nicolas, and her daughter Mari Trini was born in Almeria City.

In attendance at the birthday party were all four of her children, her 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as all of their respective partners and other relatives.

It was a wonderful 100th birthday and a very special occasion, Dolores affirmed.

Having witnessed a civil war in her own country, the advent of cinema, TV, space age, and the Internet, if anyone is entitled to a relaxing day with their family, it is Dolores.
