BRITISH experimental rock band Radiohead has confirmed they will treat fans to a preview of their ninth studio album at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound music festival in June 2016.
A Primavera Sound press release broke the news, stating that one highlight of the festival would be “the presentation of a new album by British band Radiohead.” The actual release date of the album has yet to be announced.
The festival organisers unveiled an impressive line-up on January 21 which also includes British musician P.J. Harvey, American band LCD Soundsystem and Icelandic post-rockers Sigur Ros.
The long-awaited release of Radiohead’s forthcoming album has been shrouded in mystery, as the band is renowned for using unconventional methods to premier their work, such as the online pay-what-you-like release of their 2007 album In Rainbows.
The band will headline the 3-day festival, dates for which have been confirmed as the first week of June. The location for the star-studded event is Barcelona’s Parc del Forum.
