CENTRAL PARK: Malaga wants its own version.
ALTHOUGH not in the plans of the ruling party on Malaga City Council, opposition parties have been approached by members of the electorate seeking their support for the creation of a new park in Malaga.
The concept of transforming an unused area of land in Malaga next to Juan XXIII Avenue into a large public park is not new, but the parties involved think that now is the time for using a 177,000 square metre piece of land, owned by petrol company Repsol, in order to create a big green space in one of the most densely populated areas in Europe.
There is even a digital platform created by Malaga residents on www.change.org, which promotes the theory of transforming this huge piece of land into an urban oasis similar to Central Park in New York or Hyde Park in London.
