An unnamed 29-year-old Brit, said to be on holiday, has been remanded in custody by an Orihuela judge on suspicion of murder. The accused handed himself into police after hearing investigators were looking for him, but has not admitted any involvement in the crime, claiming he has no full recollection of the incident.
The owner of the pub was also arrested under suspicions he attempted to cover up the crime by disposing of the weapon. He has since been released on bail, while another Brit, a 39-year-old woman, was cleared of any wrongdoing.
