All-new American Super Car in Detroit

MOTOR CITY as the backdrop for the new product reveals of 2016, could not have been a better choice for the world’s car manufacturers to show off their wares.

The North American International Auto Show in Detroit, which will be running until January 24, finds itself playing host to more than 50 major exhibits. NAIAS Chairman Paul Sabatini said, “Of the 57 introductions at NAIAS, nearly 90 per cent were worldwide debuts.”

Amongst the many people carriers, concepts, 4×4’s and saloons, one of the stars of the show is the 745-HP Force 1 V10: “The New American Supercar”

The Legendary auto designer Henrik Fisker, and race car driver Ben Keating, unveiled their vision of the future with the 2016 Force 1 V10, an all-new American Super Car.

Proudly debuting at the NAIAS and remorselessly taking people’s breath away is the two-seat carbon fibre monster from Force 1. This high-performance, low production sports car, manufactured in Michigan by VLF Automotive -of which Fisker is a partner and design chief – is capable of launching itself from 0 to 60mph in 3 seconds, and ultimately moving you through time and space at 218mph (350 km/h).

It features an all carbon fibre lightweight body and 21-inch wheels with high performance Pirelli P Zero tires and Brembo high-performance brakes. The car is hurled down the road by means of a 745-HP 8.4 litre V10 engine (one of the most powerful naturally aspirated road engines in the world) through a six speed manual – or auto with paddle shift – gearbox.

Production commences at the end of April 2016 in Auburn Hills and deliveries begin in third quarter 2016, with the base price starting at $268,500 (€245,000). Initially, only 50 units will be available.
