Alison Wynne-Ryder: horsey support after visit to EHCRC in Rojales

HORSEY SUPPORT: Alison will be raising funds.

AFTER a successful tour in Canada, Alison Wynne-Ryder, known as The Quirky Medium, is back on home turf on the Costa Blanca.

After hearing about the Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre (EHCRC) in Rojales and the amazing work they do there, Alison paid a visit with her husband John to meet founders Sue and Rod Weedon.

Alison said: “I had seen pictures of some of the horses that Sue and Rod had rescued in conjunction with the Local Police who they have an excellent rapport with. One of the horses was skeletal and had been left to starve to death.

“I couldn’t believe how people could be so cruel and heartless. That image didn’t leave me, and when I logged onto the EHCRC Facebook page and saw how these beautiful creatures have been saved from cruelty and neglect I knew I had to see the place for myself.” She continued: “When my husband John and I visited the centre, it isn’t just what you see, it’s what you feel, it has such a relaxed, calm ambience about it. It really is what it says, a sanctuary for neglected horses and donkeys and I feel this is a befitting way to describe what truly incredible work the charity undertakes 24 hours each day.

“As we wandered around, I recognised the horse I had seen in the paper; he had put on weight, his mane was shining and he looked so happy in his new home. For these animals, Sue and Rod literally are their guardian angels. I knew there and then I wanted to help.”
