Air Europa Express charges job applicants

WITH its main base in Palma de Mallorca, Spain’s third airline Air Europa is about to relaunch a budget airline to be known as Air Europe Express and is passing some of its smaller aircraft to the new division, which is currently recruiting staff and is expected to include up to 100 pilots and 150 ground and air crew.

It has apparently received around 2,000 applications and in a somewhat unusual move, following its fine for charging disabled passengers for making calls to arrange wheelchair assistance, it will charge €60 for each applicant called for interview.

Other budget airlines such as Ryanair have been the butt of various jokes about their charges but this has to be the most bizarre.
