Alhaurin de la Torre.
UPDATE In a press release dated February 1, the Guardia Civil has confirmed the arrest of a second person in the town of Alhaurin el Grande suspected as being complicit in the murder of Lucia Garrido Palomino on April 30, 2008.
The latest suspect is a former member of the Guardia Civil and was stationed in Coín at the time of the murder although he later left the force. This second arrest is related to on-going investigations following the arrest of the first person in Mijas on January 26.
OFFICERS of the Guardia Civil travelled to Mijas on January 26 and arrested a man who they believe was responsible for the murder of Lucia Garrido Palomino who was killed at the Finca Los Naranjos in Alhaurin de la Torre on April 30, 2008.
Very little information has been released on this arrest as it is being treated as on-going, especially as in 2009, the former husband of Mrs Garrido shot two Colombian nationals in the same house when they tried to force an entry and is still under investigation.
The only other information released is that the identification of the alleged murderer was found through forensic research.
