A ‘Night of Light’ for Christmas shopping

PARTICIPANTS: Establishments gave clients a poster with photos of locations.

THE second ‘Noche de la Luz’ (Night of Light) was held in Huercal-Overa to boost commerce.

The Councillor for Commerce, Monica Navarro, presented the event with photographers from the local group CoFHo, Francis Tamayo, Salvador Gomez and Ana Maria Fernandez.

Each of the participating establishments gave their clients a poster with photos of locations in the town which have been donated by CoFHo.

The photographers thanked the town hall for allowing them to take part in the event, and said that each of the members had been allowed to choose which images they wanted to include.

There are 40 photos in total by 10 photographers which were printed in high quality on varnished matte paper.

Amongst other attractions on the night, there were 5,000 candles lighting the commercial areas and lighting was dimmed so people could enjoy walking the streets in the candlelight and enjoy the Christmas lights.

Shops had discounts of between 10 and 70 per cent from 5pm to midnight and offered other gifts to clients.

Children enjoyed seeing some of their favourite cartoon characters, as well as Santa Claus and a demonstration of Zumba and dancing. There was also a choir singing Carols.
