APARTMENT BLOCK: A waiter ran to try and help.
A FIFTY-THREE-YEAR-OLD Danish man died a few hours after running the Malaga Marathon. The man, who was an experienced runner, was staying in an apartment in the Plaza de la Merced along with a Danish married couple and their two children.
He had run the race in the morning and reportedly felt ill afterwards. At 2.45pm he suddenly collapsed. His friends ran to the balcony and shouted for assistance and a waiter from a nearby restaurant went running to the apartment. Eventually paramedics went to the scene but were unable to revive the man.
