BARACK OBAMA: A Spanish advisor to the US President was in Marbella yesterday.

A SPANISH advisor to US President Barack Obama was in Marbella, December 16 on a trade mission to identify business and investment opportunities in the Costa del Sol.

Juan Verde, who participated in a business and social forum discussing the future of the region, said “the region is emerging from the crisis, the housing market beginning to pick up flight and I think it is the right time for any fund that wishes to develop projects.”

This is the first trade mission to Spain from the US government that has taken place outside of Madrid, Barcelona or the Canary Islands.

Verde described the move as “innovative” due to Marbella’s “leading” role in the two sectors.
