Massive renovation works are finally in the pipeline for Villajoyosa Hospital which will see three-quarters of a million euros ploughed into a much needed expansion plan.
Residents have asked for extensions to the incredibly important resource for locals for years but their requests fell on deaf ears as the regional government shelved the original plans.
Now the much-needed project is back on the table with a full commitment to bringing residents the service they deserve. A new hospital management team, led by Rosa Louis, met with Altea Mayor Jaume Llinares and Health Councillor Veronica Lopez, and unveiled the €750,000 budget allocation for next year.
Thirty more rooms and 17 extra haemodialysis stations are planned, according to the hospital manager, who said: “These extensions are a necessity… and have been requested not only by medical staff but Marina Baja users as well.”
