David’s Books is at the heart of the community, books and more in store…

“You cannot beat that feeling of indulging yourself in a good book,” says Jo Carter, the new owner at David’s Books. And as they have a huge selection of books to choose from it’s a feeling that she’s likely to keep for a very long time.

Before moving to Spain seven years ago, Jo had a career with Marks and Spencer, so she has worked in retail pretty much all of her working life. When the opportunity came along to take over a Los Boliches institution like David’s Books, she jumped at the chance to continue its great name and standing within the local community.

David’s Books is located two streets back from the seafront, in the middle of Calle Francisco Cano, not far from the Yaramar Hotel in Los Boliches.

They are very proud of their library of over 6,000 secondhand books and in addition to this, they also stock a large collection of new books. Everything from classics, cookery, puzzle books, learning Spanish, dictionaries and children’s books are in store. And if there’s a title that they don’t have in stock, they will be more than happy to order it for you. In addition, with a 50 per cent refund on returning secondhand books, it makes your next book purchase even cheaper.

The store also has a vast selection of greetings cards for every occasion. Because they have a Royal Mail service that picks up Monday to Friday, with the most competitive prices on the coast, they can send your cards, along with parcels, recorded deliveries and anything else you wish to send, via Royal Mail or courier service anywhere in the world. Take advantage of the reduced delivery price on Christmas cards to the UK running from now until December 9.

With other services available which include fax, laminating, printing boarding passes and photocopying, they also have a postbox service should you wish to have your mail delivered somewhere safe. 

They can even take the stress out of renewing your old passport with their passport renewal service.
