CADENA COPE, the Spanish radio station, reported on Thursday that Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola will leave the club at the end of this season and take over at Manchester City.

The manager is almost at the end of his contract and Bayern officials confirmed earlier on Thursday that the club haven’t started negotiations with him to renew his contract.

According to a report on the radio station ‘Pep Guardiola will leave Bayern Munich at the end of this season and will train Manchester City next season,’ because he is looking for ‘a change of scenery.’

The report went on to claim that it is one of Guardiola’s ambitions to coach in England. In Manchester City, Manuel Pellegrini´s contract has been extended until June 2017 but the station reported that he would be released early so Guardiola could take over.

Ex Chelsea and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is said to be the favourite for the Bayern job if Guardiola does leave.

Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has already made signs that Guardiola´s contract may not be renewed and said: “We have always said there will be a decision in 2015. I know that it’s late, just days before Christmas. But the talks will be held after the Hannover match, and we’ll then announce a decision.”

“There is no person in this world who can’t be replaced at some point. That’s the state of things. Players come, players go, and the same applies to coaches. They come and they go at one point,” added Rummenigge.
