MALAGA’S Local Police force is looking for a driver who allegedly ran over a woman who died on the MA21 road by the Churriana crossroads on Wednesday evening (November 25).

Emergency services received calls at 7.55pm to report that a woman had been run over on the road and although police and ambulance teams were sent to the scene they could do nothing to save the woman, who had been hit by a number of vehicles.

Investigators quickly identified the victim as a 49-year-old Colombian Benalmadena resident and they believe she had just got off a bus and was on her way to work nearby.

No skid marks were found at the scene, which has led police to believe one of two things happened. Either the driver hit the woman and fled the scene intentionally, or he or she didn’t realise they had hit her and she fell to the floor where she was then run over by other cars. The area has very low visibility and strong winds made driving difficult in the area at the time, the officers reported.

This was the third time a pedestrian had been run over and killed in the province in just five days. On Friday (November 20) a 50-year-old man was hit and killed by a car near Ojen and the following day another man was killed by a lorry in Moclinejo.
