ON the morning of November 22, a Lithuanian citizen, 38-year-old Almantas Mekionis, having been arrested by the Royal Gibraltar Police under a European Arrest Warrant earlier in the month, was taken to the RGP post at the land border with Spain.
He was handed over to plain clothes officers from Lithuania who walked into Spain with the detained man. Once in Spain, they were met by Spanish police officers and continued their journey back to Lithuania where he will assist police in their enquiries into the alleged rape of a minor.
