A PROJECT for much-needed work to the Arroyo de la Miel exit from the A7 motorway has been approved by the government and will be put out to tender in the next Official State Bulletin.
Companies interested in carrying out the work will be invited to send in their proposals and quotes for the work, which has a total budget of €17.8 million spread over the General State Budgets from 2015 to 2019, former Mayor of Benalmadena Paloma Garcia Galvez and congress candidate Celia Villalobos announced last week.
While Victor Navas, current Benalmadena Mayor, said the news was good he mentioned concerns as to whether the work would actually start this time, or whether the announcement of a solution to a problem that goes back to 1992 was a mere show due to the upcoming general elections.
The exit and main entrance to Benalmadena, at kilometre 222 on the motorway, is one of the province’s traffic black spots with queues forming on a daily basis which stretch back onto the motorway itself in rush hour.
