MODERN technology is on its way to Velez-Malaga. Following an agreement between the council and Telefonica telecommunications company, almost 70 per cent of the population can expect to have access to fibre optics within a year, the council has announced.
Mayor Antonio Moreno Ferrer said: “There are going to be big changes to technology in towns and we hope most homes and businesses will be connected by the end of next year. The project is complicated though and will be a gradual one so we must ask for patience.”
