Alleged bag thieves arrested

FOUR youths aged between 16 and 19 have been arrested by the National Police in Motril over a bag-snatching incident.

An 80-year-old woman and her husband phoned the police to report that while they were out walking, a youth had grabbed the woman’s handbag and almost knocked her over before leaping into a car where another three youths were waiting and speeding off.

After searching the area police officers arrested the four suspects and the case has been handed over to be dealt with by the courts.
