Lliria murderer sent to prison

A man named only as Leonardo MC was taken away from the courts in Lliria to Picassent prison after appearing in court charged with the murder of his ex-wife and her mother after gunning them down in broad daylight in the town of Lliria, Alicante in front of their three-year-old child. 

The man is being held in custody without bail, after he handed himself in at Guardia Civil headquarters in Valencia a number of hours after the crime was committed on Sunday November 8.

The accused has taken his right not to testify in court, and refuses to confess to the murders, even though he had previously handed himself in to the Guardia Civil, and the man’s defence lawyers are even suggesting the possibility that the shootings were carried out by another man.
