REMEMBERING the success that fans had in promoting a song by American group Rage against the Machine to make it Christmas number one to keep a Simon Cowell X Factor song from the top spot, music fans in Britain have started a Facebook campaign to get a single by the Eagles of Death Metal to number one in the UK charts.
The California band were playing at the Bataclan theatre in Paris when gunmen burst in and slaughtered at least 89 people on Friday last and the campaign urges fans to download the single ‘Save A Prayer’, originally recorded by Duran Duran to show support for the group and their fans who were caught up in the massacre.
The members of the group have not issued any statements following the events of the night of November 13 although a short video has been released on social media showing them playing at the time that the first shots were fired inside the club.
