Valencia Under Amber Alert For Strong Winds
THE second storm named by the British public, Storm Barney, is set to hit the UK this week and bring with it winds of up to 80mph.
Wales and England have been given yellow wind warnings for Tuesday afternoon and evening. The news comes after Scotland has been just hit by Storm Abigail which left school closures and power outages in the country.
The north of Scotland could experience strong winds on Monday with the Bristol Channel and Wales looking set for stormy conditions on Tuesday.
More flooding is expected as some grounds are still saturated but the main warning is for gale force winds.
Storm Abigail left over 20,000 homes without power last week and Barney is the second storm to be named by the public in the UK as part of the Met Office campaign to raise safety awareness about weather.
