NEW LOOK: wider pavements will be the most noticeable change to the street.
WORK on Fuengirola’s busy Calle Doctor Galvez Ginachero has entered the final sprint and may be finished by next week, the council has announced.
The street, in a popular tourist area between Avenida Ramon y Cajal and the seafront, has undergone a total renovation. Work has been carried out both underground to renew pipes, drainage and cables, and at surface level with the most noticeable change being to pavements which have been considerably widened.
Although 24 companies competed to obtain the contract, which was originally put out to tender for a price of €393,193 and expected to be done in three months, it was awarded to Probisa which offered to do the work in 39 days for just €337,000, local Mayor Ana Mula explained during a visit to the site.
