Fifth woman killed in less than a week

YET another woman in Spain lost her life at the hands of her partner in the early hours of Thursday morning (November 12), the fifth in the country since Saturday, when there was a mass march against gender violence in Madrid.

Maria del Carmen A.D, aged 45, was shot by her 46-year-old partner. He then killed himself, at their home in Sanlucar la Mayor (Sevilla).

When emergency services arrived at the scene the woman was still alive, but in spite of their attempts to save her she died at 3.10am.

This tragic death brings the total number of women murdered by partners or ex-partners so far this year in Spain to 45.
