Man arrested for making up a crime

A MAN has been arrested by the National Police force in Malaga City for lodging a false report and misappropriation.

The 28-year-old reported to the police that he had been robbed at knife-point by two men on a motorbike while on his way to pay back an €8,000 loan the band he ran had taken out.

Although he claimed the robbers had stabbed him in the leg with a knife and stolen a rucksack containing the money, investigators discovered that he had made the story up after spending the cash himself and being unable to pay it back and used a paper-knife to cut himself for more credibility.
