Motril changing to suit traffic

UNDER WAY: Work to adapt Motril’s streets to cope with more traffic

MOTRIL’S Maintenance Department has this week begun adapting their streets to cater for the growing amount of traffic, and the damage it has caused.

Councillor Gloria Chica explained that the work was focused on replacing paving stones which had been broken by the pass of vehicles. The six streets in the centre that are affected are: Calles Chispas, Enrique Montero, Mercado Alto, Punticas, Cuatro Esquinas and Cruz de Conchas. “Stones measuring 30cm by 20cm are being replaced by smaller ones, measuring 20 by 10, which are more resistant to vehicles,” Chica said, and “the cost of the work, is covered by this year’s budgets.”
