Pantoja: Reduced to rubble

The ‘My Gypsy’ house in its heyday

MI GITANA, the house Isabel Pantoja and Julian Muñoz shared in Marbella’s La Pera urbanisation, will soon be reduced to rubble.

The property is to be completely destroyed by the new owner, a British businessman who bought it for around €2 million has decided to knock it down and build a mansion on the grounds. Although the location is prime, the property he found was completely abandoned and destroyed inside by vandals.

The jailed singer’s home, which was in the hands of Banco Santander, bore a number of debts. In fact on the day of the sale there were representatives from eight different companies present waiting to get their hands on what they were owed. Isabel Pantoja lost the house to Banco Santander when she was unable to meet payments on the €3.3 million mortgage she had taken out in 2004. She stopped paying in 2007 when her financial problems started.
