A FINE of €325 has been imposed on the concessionaire that operates the lift in the Santa Barbara castle after a group of tourists were trapped in it for two hours.

The tripartite ruling council of Alicante (PSPV-PSOE, Guanyar and Compromís) has imposed a fine after several people remained trapped in the lift during the summer.

Technical specifications state that in the case of breakdowns the response time should be less than 45 minutes.
