The earth moves in Albox

THE earth moved for most people in Albox, Cuevas de Almanzora and Arboleas last week due to an earthquake registering 3.2 degrees on the Richter scale.

The quake, 112 Emergency Services Andalucia reported, happened at 6.55pm on Thursday October 29 and although the National Geographic Institute initially believed the epicenter was in Arboleas it was finally declared to have been to the southeast of Albox.

Worried residents from all three areas called the authorities to report having felt the movement, yet 112 declared there had been no injuries of damage reported.

Almanzora and Poniente are the two most quake-prone areas in Almeria province according to data from the National Geographic Institute.
