Superb water there for the taking

THE water that has flowed for centuries from Mojacar’s Fuente Mora fountain is still used today.

It is analysed monthly by an independent laboratory and as usual the latest results have pronounced it ‘superb’ and fit for human consumption. Residents from nearby – and further away – would use nothing else for drinking and cooking, they say.

The fountain in Calle de la Fuente was rebuilt in the 19th century but Arabic texts prove that it was there in Moorish times and its presence was instrumental in founding the town.
