THE Palma Film Office (SFA) has dealt with requests for 127 filming sessions in the city between January and October this year.
Palma Film Office aids producers to source filming locations and manages the administrative procedures required to access them. To do so, it works with all the public administrations involved in conceding permits, at local, regional and national levels, making it easier for producers to go ahead with their work.
More than 100 Spanish companies have requested permits, which are mainly for commercial photography (49), commercial TV programmes and series (48), and adverts (33).
There have also been 12 requests from German companies, six British, three North American, two Swedish and French, and one each from Japanese and Danish companies, according to the City Hall.
They have led to 2,078 days filming and 624 local contracts. The office, which is part of the Council for Tourism, Commerce and Work, aims to promote the city as a location for filming as well as boost the local audiovisual industry.
