SPAIN’s high court began initial proceedings against Volkswagen on October 28, after the public prosecutor argued fraud charges against the car company.
In the recent scandal, the German car market Volkswagen admitted to cheating on emission tests for 11 million of their diesel operated cars. The Spanish judge requires the company to present a representative to face the accusations by November 10, 9:30am GMT.
The prosecutor argued that Volkswagen committed fraud by taking subsidies illegally and may have committed another crime relating to the environment, by pollution from its cars.
