Peruvian scene
A PAIR of Spanish brothers, Miguel and Rafael Gutierrez Garitano, leading an expedition to Peru with financial support from gaming accessories manufacturer Mars Gaming have made the discovery of the ruins of a site which they believe was used by the Incas to sacrifice children to their gods in a remote mountain range in Peru.
The discovery of the religious complex took place in the Vilcabamba Mountains, 93 miles (150km) north of the Peruvian city of Cusco and the researchers also found a system of caves near the ruins where the victims of the sacrificial rituals were buried.
This system of caves which was first identified by the use of satellite imaging equipment is thought to date between 1471 to 1493 and the area itself is said to be very dangerous because of both drug cartels and Peruvian insurgents.
