CHRISTMAS is approaching and businesses in Almuñecar are thinking up ways to boost their income and help out at the same time.
During a meeting with Commerce Councillor Rafael Caballero, local businesspeople pledged to hold a raffle to raise funds for the No Child Without A Toy charity campaign, which works to make sure no youngsters are left without a gift at Christmas.
The charity drive runs from December 4 to January 4 and participating businesses will be acquiring raffle tickets to give out to customers who spend over a set amount. These tickets will go in for a draw on January 8 for prizes donated by the businesses.
Ways to liven up the streets for the Christmas shopping period including having music, activities and Santa on hand, were also discussed at the meeting, and business-owners agreed to open on Sunday December 6 from 10am to 2pm.
