A 13-month-old girl and two-year-old boy together with at least five other people were injured when a silver coloured Volkswagen Polo driven by a very elderly woman mounted the curb and hit them outside the Friary Centre, Guildford in Surrey on the morning of Friday October 23.

The little girl and a man in his 60’s were flown by separate air ambulances to St George’s Hospital, Tooting and a woman with leg injuries was taken by road ambulance to the same hospital. All three are reported to be in a serious condition, whilst at least four others were taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford.

Police closed a number of roads around the area and six ambulance crews, four ambulance cars and the two air ambulances attended the scene.
