Sevilla fans attacked by mob in Manchester

A GROUP of Spanish fans travelling to watch the Sevilla/Manchester City football match were attacked at about 4.30pm on October 21 by a group of unidentified thugs outside the Old Wellington Inn situated in Cathedral Approach Manchester.

According to reports in the Spanish media, between 25 and 40 men attacked the Sevilla fans – who were drinking and singing in the pubs open seating area – with bottles, tables, and even a metal barrier.

It is not thought that this attack involved Manchester City fans but instead may have been a cadre of Polish supporters of Slask Vroclaw from the city of Breslavia as part of a concerted challenge on the fans of the Spanish team following a series of incidents in Sevilla in 2013.

Police in Manchester arrested three Polish men and one Spanish man was treated for a head injury.
