JEFF WISZNIEWSKI has announced his resignation as councillor from the PIPN party in San Fulgencio.
He said: “My reasons for resigning are very personal. I have given five years of my life to help the community with their lives in Spain. This has taken its toll on my family and recreational life as well as my health and that of my wife. Although I do not regret one moment of it.”
Jeff was persuaded to go into politics by local residents and as a result formed PIPN with a view to representing the people of San Fulgencio and the Urbanisations.
In the first elections in which they stood, they gained one councillor and, as the PP lacked a councillor in San Fulgencio to gain a majority, they signed a government pact to be part of the ruling party: “That has not has been respected by the PP. They have underestimated us, looked down upon us, lied and we were even threatened that they would close our Office for the Urbanisations. We have had to endure very uncomfortable situations, but decided to continue the term of office because I am a man of my word and I wanted to continue helping everyone who needed that help.”
Jeff continued: “San Fulgencio needs a strong opposition party to challenge the decisions of the current government team. I believe that with my resignation, the PIPN, with our spokesperson in the town hall, Samantha Hull, who is also the only British female councillor, with Charo Mejías Dios, who will now become councillor, and with the team we have behind the scenes, we will have a strong opposition team within San Fulgencio Town Hall.”
Jeff will continue as President of the PIPN party.
