FORTY workers at the factory Mantequerias Arias in Ronda are facing redundancy, early retirement or relocation following an announced restructuring process.
The company, with headquarters in Madrid and other factories in Albacete, Valladolid, Vegalencia and Burgos, has announced that due to heavy losses and failure of recent attempts to improve the situation at its Ronda centre, 40 of its 70 workers will have to go.
General Director Javier Roza explained that although it was a difficult decision and one the company had tried to avoid, it had to make the changes to guarantee the futures of the rest of its factories. Workers, he promised, will be offered various options including early retirement or relocation in an aim to soften the blow.
