A MET officer is in stable condition after a shooting in East London on Thursday.
A MALE police officer has been shot during an anti-gang operation in Hackney on Thursday October 15. The latest from the Metropolitan Police is that he is now in a stable condition.
The Met officer was taken to hospital by air ambulance after shots were fired in Hackney at 12.45pm. The shooting occurred during an operation being carried out by specialist firearms unit SCO19.
Gunfire was heard by witnesses after police entered the Stonebridge Park estate where armed police, dogs and helicopters were also seen. A man was arrested at the scene.
A cordon has been put in place at the area with police vehicles still at the scene.
