THE Lifeguarding, Prevention and Surveillance service across the beaches of Rincon de la Victoria has registered more than 5,000 interventions during the summer season.
The information was released by Civil Protection Councillor, Javier Lopez.
Mayor of the Town, Encarnacion Anaya, has praised the work of all professionals who have ensured the safety and surveillance of beach-goers this summer and guaranteed the peace and good use of the coastal areas.
As many as 18 rescues of people at risk of drowning have been performed this year in the town; there were 13 cases in which children were lost and there were seven patients who needed to be taken to the hospital after accidents on the beach.
The team was made up of 22 (lifeguards, drivers, nurses, etc), distributed across 11 surveillance towers placed on different points of the coasts.
