CAP DE FORMENTOR: One of the lighthouses due to get some TLC.
THE Balearic Islands’ Port Authority has awarded contracts worth €257,990 for work to improve various lighthouses in Mallorca.
Fourteen jobs are programmed at 10 lighthouses in Alcanada, Cala Figuera, Capdepera, la Creu, Cap Gros, Portocolom, Cap Blanc, Formentor, Punta de l’Avançada and ses Salines.
Three beacons at des Morro de sa Carabassa, Punta Plana and sa Puntassa and a home for marine signal workers at Port d’Andratx will also receive attention.
The work, which will be carried out by Obras y Pavimentos MAN, is expected to take five months and will not affect sea traffic.
