WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY will be celebrated on Saturday, October 10, which coincides with the Mini Olympiad to be held at the Victoria Stadium Sports Complex. Clubhouse Gibraltar is organising a fund-raising cake and savoury food stall as well as an information table on mental health to help create awareness.

Clubhouse staff and members will be joined by Gibraltar Health Authority staff who are also supporting this event and will be able to provide answers to questions on matters of mental health. In addition, Clubhouse Gibraltar is setting up an information stall at Bayside School on Friday, October 9, which will make access to information a lot easier for young people and hopefully give them early guidance in achieving good mental health and wellbeing.

The theme for this year’s World Mental Health Day is ‘Dignity in Mental Health’ and the World Health Organisation will be raising awareness of what can be done to ensure that people with mental health conditions can continue to live with dignity, through human rights-oriented policy and law, training of health professionals, respect for informed consent to treatment, inclusion in decision-making processes and public information campaigns.
