Pied Piper needed for rats

POLITICAL parties on a town council seldom agree but a plague of rats has united Huercal de Almeria.

Rats (and also snakes) are a problem in the La Fuensanta district adjoining the overgrown and unused Finca el Canario, which is the property of the regional government.

Izquierda Unida called on the regional government to fumigate the area before the problem spreads.

The IU-run town hall urged the Junta not to turn deaf ears to a request that had the unanimous backing of all local parties.
